PPO publish 2024-25 Race Action Plan

Published:

The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has today published our Race Action Plan for 2024/25.

Since joining the PPO, Ombudsman Adrian Usher stated that through conversations with all his staff, there has been a strong consensus that we should be ensuring race is considered within our casework.

Ombudsman Adrian Usher said: “The delay in publishing this year’s plan is because we have taken the time to consider how we address racial discrimination within our casework thoroughly and correctly.

This is a priority for my office, and I want my investigators to be curious and call out racism when we see or hear it. We will address racism appropriately for our service users, as well as continue our own staff-focused race equality work”.
