We often include recommendations in our reports relating to what we found during the investigation. These focus on what could be done to prevent similar situations in the future.
The relevant service must tell us whether they accept our recommendations and let us know when they will implement them.

To make things better for people in detention and on probation, we look at learning from all our investigations together. This helps us to make services better by identifying issues that may help to prevent complaints in the future.
