Prisons and Probation Ombudsman publish Race Action Plan for 2026 to 2027

Published:

The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has today published our Race Action Plan commitments for 2026 to 2027.

Ombudsman Adrian Usher said: “I am pleased to share the publication of our Race Action Plan which reinforces the importance of considering race throughout our casework. This year, this work will be embedded further so that both our fatal incident and complaint investigators remain confident in investigating these issues.

Alongside this work, we will continue supporting our ethnic minority staff and celebrating diversity. Going forward, our research team will also analyse our data to highlight trends in relation to ethnicity”.

Progress on the 2025 to 2026 Race Action Plan will be available in our Annual Report, which will be published here in July.
